6 Ideas For A Memorable Virtual Bachelorette Party
Ladies, it’s time to hit the town - or maybe just your backyard?
Bachelorette parties, your last night of being a single woman, are notorious for being a wildly fun night out with your closest gals. With the ongoing pandemic, a late-night bar crawl or a trip to Cabo aren’t going to be viable options for any bride. But, just because you had to press pause on your actual wedding doesn’t mean you can’t have some memorable pre-wedding festivities. If you’re looking for tips on how to have a virtual bridal shower, you can check out our post on that here. But, today we’re going to talk about how to make a virtual bachelorette party memorable for everyone involved. Even with social distancing, you can still raise a drink to the bride and participate in some fun games sure to bring out a few embarrassing stories to joke about with each other later. Keep reading for six ways you can make a virtual bachelorette party a smash hit amongst your friends (it might just become a wedding must-do from now on)!
Send Personalized Invites
First things first, one bridesmaid needs to be designated as the bachelorette coordinator to call each guest and set out the plan for the event. Because the party is going to be a smaller gathering, try to call or text each guest personally. Unless of course, you’ve decided on a theme (which we highly recommend doing), then you can send out e-vites listing all the info in your “totally ‘90s” theme or whichever theme you may decide on. Don’t skimp on decorations either, you may not be able to get each guest to have the same decorations, but try to establish a color scheme and have each guest dress up to help make everyone feel a part of the event.
Send Gifts Ahead of Time
If any guest is planning to send a gift or card to the bride, make sure that it is mailed ahead of time. This way, the bride can open them in front of everyone just as she would at an in-person bachelorette party. The same goes for any gift bags that are going to be sent to the guests. If you’ve decided on a theme or specific activity, create a gift bag that pertains to that or you can go for classic feather boas and bridesmaid t-shirts!
Karaoke At Home
There are not many things in life that are as funny as watching your friends sing karaoke after a few drinks. Plus, there’s no better time to belt out your rendition of Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” than at a bachelorette party, virtual or not. Thanks to evolving technology, you don’t even need every guest to own a karaoke machine (although, if they do that’d be a great touch). You can simply have every guest pull up the karaoke version of their favorite song on YouTube to perform for the group. Best performance gets a free wine delivery during the party!
Virtual Bar Crawl
Now, you might not get to participate in a late-night bar crawl, but that doesn’t mean you have to forget it altogether! You can plan a list of 10 drinks that are the signature drinks from some of your favorite bars or if you’ve decided on a location theme, like Paris or Miami, create a list of drinks that you would only find at that destination. Make sure you share the recipes of every drink with your guests beforehand so they have time to buy the ingredients and consider sending along with some fun drink decorations like bride straws or plastic rings!
Special Guest Appearances
An appearance by your family members isn't typically expected at a regular bachelorette party, but for a virtual one, it’s encouraged! About an hour or two after the start of your virtual bachelorette party has started, add in either the mother of the bride or the fiance (or both) for a special guest appearance. This will make the bride smile and it breaks up the event a bit to help keep everyone engaged in the planned activities.
Mix Cocktails and Bachelorette Games
It’s cocktail hour, but with a bachelorette spin! You can pick a signature cocktail for everyone to make or just let everyone choose their drink. But, to mix it up a little, turn typical bachelorette party games into an answer or drink type of situation. You can go for the classic “How Well Do You Know the Bride,” asking a series of questions to each guest, and if they get it wrong they have to take a sip of their cocktail. For even more fun, swap out the photo list bachelorette challenge, where you have to take photos with different people throughout the night, for a bride-themed scavenger hunt where the last person to return with the item or complete a dare has to sip!
