Floravere & Brideside Shut Down: Here Are Some Other Options
There’s been some unfortunate news out of the bridal retail world in the last few months.
Wedding gown retailers, Floravere and Brideside, closed their doors at the end of 2020. It’s a hard time for a lot of small businesses, with many bridal boutiques seeing a decrease in sales as the pandemic continues to alter the timeline for a lot of brides. Both of these companies were built on a mission to bring chic and affordable wedding dresses to brides who don’t necessarily have the time or the money to spend hours and hours in a brick-and-mortar bridal shop. They share many similarities with LVB, including why we started the business, which is why it makes us so sad to say goodbye to our peers. For any of the brides who bought an online wedding dress from Floravere or Brideside and didn’t receive it because of the shutdown or were planning to shop there, this news is a huge bummer too. So today, in honor of Floravere and Brideside, we’ve compiled a list of alternative companies that you can check out for your wedding dress. We’ve chosen companies that align in ethos with the two that are no longer with us, and hope that this will be a resource for you during your dress search!
Lyra Vega Bridal
Of course, we couldn’t start a bridal shop list without mentioning ourselves! But, not without good reason –– we are pretty awesome if we do say so ourselves.
If you didn’t know, the majority of brick and mortar bridal boutiques add on wholesale and retail markups to their overall wedding dress prices, not to mention alterations and other hidden fees on top of the dress price that you’ll have to budget for.
With LVB, we cut out the middlemen, skipping out on the 8-10x markups of traditional bridal boutiques to offer high-quality, affordable wedding dresses that are accessible to ALL brides. All of the gowns in our collection are made-to-measure AND priced at $1,200 or less, including some very beautiful ball gown silhouettes, which you don’t always find with online retailers.
You can schedule a style consultation with one of our expert stylists any time to discuss bridal style options, gown customization, or just to learn a little more about our company and our #smartbride pricing model. With just a few clicks, you can have a beautiful wedding dress, that will require little to no alterations we might add, on your doorstep in a mere 8 weeks!
Grace + Ivory
Looking for a try-on experience? Grace + Ivory has got you covered! You can select wedding dress samples that will be sent to you in a try-at-home kit to help you decide what bridal style works best for you. There is a fee for this service, but if you buy your wedding dress from Grace + Ivory your try-on cost will be subtracted from your final dress price. Plus, if you just want to dive in and purchase a gown you can browse their collection of wedding dresses that are size inclusive and don’t exceed $2,000 in price in their online shop.
Amsale
Amsale is a one-stop-shop for almost any bridal experience! You can shop for your wedding gown directly on the site, with their ready-to-ship collection. But, if you want a more customized experience the Amsale x YOU program allows you to design your wedding gown yourself. Just be aware that the price for a customized gown starts at $4,850, so it could get a little pricey depending on how detailed you expect your gown to be. Need a dress for your bridal shower or rehearsal dinner? You can get that dress and your wedding gown all at once with Amsale’s Little White Dresses collection for pre-wedding activities. A quick and easy option for any busy bride!
Lace and Liberty
Get a one-of-a-kind gown for an affordable price with Lace & Liberty! Their custom gown designs start at $1,500 where you choose a base gown design from their collection and make adjustments that reflect your bridal style. You can also purchase a wedding dress or request a try-on in their shop that has a ton of modern options from bridal separates to unique designs. Their standard turnaround time is six months so make sure you keep that in mind if you are planning on doing a try-on of one of their gowns before you purchase.
Having to find a new wedding gown company after you already had your heart set on another can be disappointing, but we hope this list helps you find the perfect option for your big day!
To give you a little extra help, here are some of the LVB dress styles that we recommend if you were looking for a Floravere wedding dress! These embody the same modern, chic style of a Floravere bride.
