Money Monday: 3 Ways to Save On A Rehearsal Dinner Venue

Rehearsal dinner is just a fancy way of saying “the party before the party.” Although it is traditionally a sit-down dinner with your wedding party, immediate family, and close friends, it doesn’t have to be the only way you celebrate before tying the knot. Whether you’re looking to host an event that is simpler and laid back or, if you are working with a smaller budget, there are plenty of ways to throw a memorable rehearsal dinner for a smaller cost. No matter your budget, tacking on thousands of dollars to your budget for a pre-wedding event can be stressful. If you’re looking to get the party started and save some money, here are a few fun places where you can host your rehearsal dinner for a lesser cost!

Food Truck

If you’re looking for an alternative to the traditional restaurant set up, consider hiring a food truck for your rehearsal dinner. It gives you the flexibility to host the dinner at your home or a public, outdoor space that will cost little to no money to rent. You also have the opportunity to customize your menu, selecting a few of your favorite treats that the vendor serves for a more personalized experience. This will also help you serve your guests faster as the food truck vendor can pre-make some of the items.

Backyard Brunch

Make your life easier and bring the party to your home! Hosting brunch instead of dinner will provide a more casual environment for your guests to mingle in, plus your home won’t have any venue costs. Just be aware that, depending on your guest count for the rehearsal brunch, you may need to rent some tables and chairs. You can also opt to host your rehearsal brunch at a restaurant, which can still save you money as the 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. time slot tends to be less expensive.

Brewery

Switch it up and serve your favorite brew to your rehearsal dinner guests! Most breweries will have a large indoor and/or outdoor space available to rent where you can host any number of guests. You may spend some money on a few decorations to add to the space, but you’ll save on renting tables and chairs. Just remember to check with the brewery if they are partnered with any restaurants or food trucks that will provide food or if you will need to bulk order your own.
