Money Monday: How to Save on Bridal Makeup
Here comes the bride! In this week’s Money Monday we’re talking all about bridal makeup. The idea of sitting in a chair and getting pampered on your wedding day sounds amazing. But, we can often forget the hefty price tag that comes with that experience. It can cost hundreds of dollars not just for day-of application, but for most trial sessions as well. Not to worry though, there are still a few ways to sit back, relax, and end up with stunning bridal makeup for a fraction of the cost. Here are three simple ways you can save on your bridal makeup!
Go to a Salon
We always think of makeup artists coming to us, but what if we went to them instead! You can cut transportation costs significantly if you travel to your selected makeup artist’s salon or place of business. Just make sure to book your appointment with enough time to finish getting ready and make it to your venue on time. It also makes the most sense to book a hairstylist that works at the same salon or generally in the same area to help cut down on travel time.
Book A Professional’s Assistant
You don’t always have to book the makeup pro themselves. Instead, ask if they have any assistants available to do your makeup. Not only have assistants been practicing their skills for years, but they can give you professional makeup at a much lower cost. Consider doing a trial session with them before you commit if you’re worried about any day-of mishaps.
Do It Yourself
No one knows your face as you do! Whether you’re 100% confident in your makeup skills or simply know what works best for your face, consider doing your makeup yourself for your wedding. Just make sure you do a few trial runs and “practice” different looks to determine what will complement your entire bridal ensemble best and to work out any issues with your application.
