Your invitation is the first glimpse your guests will get of your wedding vibe, and if you love the metallic trends that have made such a splash across the wedding scene, you’ll love carrying it to your invitations. Drone Photography

While standard photography and selfies aren’t going anywhere, 2019 looks to be the year when drone photography at weddings takes off (pun intended). Nothing beats the drama and breath-taking beauty of aerial shots of a wedding or reception in a gorgeous outdoor venue. However, there are a few drawbacks: 1) Drones are noisy; and 2) They really should only be used by a professional which could make a big dent in your budget. But if you want an incredible wedding album, this could be the trend for you!

DIY Food Bars

Potato bars, taco bars, and banana split bars - these are taking the place of standard buffets and the “steak or chicken debate” and letting your guests build their own delicious meals. DIY food bars can add a bit of whimsy or fun, and it’s often economical options for feeding a large crowd. Best of all, everyone is sure to enjoy it! Perfect for weddings at any time of the day from brunch to evening, you can make them as formal or informal as you’d like.

Tiaras

Inspired by the Royal Wedding between the now Duke and Duchess of Sussex (Prince Harry and Meghan Markle), designers filled the runway with princess-inspired gowns during 2019 Bridal Fashion Week. Full skirts, lace, and long trains were common sights, most of which were topped with tiaras. So, if you’re leaning toward a fairy-tale wedding, channel your inner princess with some added sparkle and bling!

Deep, Saturated Colors

Pastels and rustic, muted tones seem to be on their way out for early 2019 in favor of bolder, more vibrant colors. WIth Ultraviolet named as the 2018 Color of the Year by Pantone, it seems wedding trends are following suit with eye-catching colors. While deep purple is popular, so is navy blue, emerald green, dahlia pink, and cerulean blue! One of these ultra-saturated colors with a neutral or a metallic can be bold without being overpowering.

No matter what the trends say to do or not do, remember, it’s YOUR wedding. Make it yours! Have fun with it, and if you want pastels or buffets, go get it! And Lyra Vega Bridal wants to help you create your dream wedding by helping you select a beautifully made, affordable wedding dress.
