Trending Beauty Looks for 2020

You’ve got the ring, you’ve chosen the dress, you’ve bought the accessories - now it’s time to think about the beauty look! The days of packing on the foundation and contouring with multiple types of bronzer are long gone. Brides nowadays are opting for a more minimal beauty look that allows for their natural beauty to shine through. Going through the motions of a wedding day are already stressful enough, keeping your beauty look simple allows for less stress about your makeup fading and fewer touch-ups. In 2020, brides will be embracing the subtle beauty looks, but not without at least one eye-catching element that takes it from simple to statement. So, if you’re looking for some beauty inspo for your upcoming nuptials, we’ve put together a list of the five beauty trends that will be everywhere in 2020!

Minimal Foundation

Primer, concealer, full coverage foundation, powder, setting spray - it’s tiring just to list the number of products that go into achieving a flawless foundation application. But, luckily a more natural look is gaining popularity in the bridal world. Swap out a full coverage foundation for a tinted moisturizer or a sheer foundation that has lighter coverage. You’ll add a glow to your natural skin, and if there happen to be any blemishes you want to be covered, you can add a bit of concealer to those areas.

Bold Lip

With a bolder beauty look such as a smokey eye or bright eyeshadow, brides tend to go for an understated lip color. Nude and light pink are typically the bridal staples and will most likely never stop being a go-to look, but 2020 is the year for branching out. With an overall more minimal beauty look gaining popularity, it allows for a bolder lip choice with deep red and purple hues that will make for an eye-catching statement. Which can always be made softer with a lip stain or tinted lip balm.

Rosy Glow

A heavy highlight is out, and rosy cheeks are in! There’s nothing wrong with adding a little luminescence to your beauty look, but brides are in favor of a warmer, more natural look in 2020. Whether you decide to add a rosy effect to your eyes, cheeks, or lips, the pink tones will give your beauty look a romantic ambiance. If you decide on rosy cheeks, make sure to use a cream blush rather than powder, because it allows you to blend the pink tones into your foundation for a subtler look that still has a pop to it.

The heyday of perfectly filled-in eyebrows that are drawn to a sharp point is long over. Brides and beauty gurus alike are opting for a more natural brow approach. A simple swipe of a brow gel to maintain placement and the occasional filling in of the brow to add some color are all you need. Messy, thicker brows are soft, yet bold in appearance giving your beauty look some power without much effort.

Ethereal Accents

Not to contradict our calling out of the shift from stark highlight to rosy glow above, ethereal accents are also a trending beauty look for brides in 2020. From white eyeliner to glossy lids, adding some shine to your bridal beauty look gives an otherwise bare face a modern-day glow. If you really want to make a statement, you can add some pearls or glitter around your eyes for an angelic feel.
